Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get started?

Please call KLC today to discuss your child’s needs. We will gather some basic information in an initial phone interview. Following the phone interview an appointment can be scheduled. Parents will be included in the initial 60-minute visit with their child.

What should I bring to my child’s first session?

• All recent evaluations
• Current IEP or home-based programs
Development history form

Can my child start therapy without an evaluation?

Formalized evaluations are conducted on an as needed basis. Your therapist may be able to gain all necessary information for treatment planning with informal assessments, parent interview, and current program/recent evalution review alone. If you or your therapist feels an evaluation is in the best interest of your child, formal evaluation measures as well as evaluation report options will be discussed.

Does KLC accept insurance?

We will assist you in any way to submit your own claims or to provide copies, reports or consultation with your insurance company. Unfortunately, we do not have the internal billing and collections system necessary to conduct business with major insurance companies. Once you start therapy, you will receive a bill at the end of each week. This invoice will have the treatment codes, diagnosis codes, and all the necessary information for your insurance company. Prior to starting therapy we recommend you call your insurance company and verify your benefits.

Who do I contact if I’m concerned about my child’s development?

A good place to begin is with your child’s pediatrician. He/she may recommend calling your local birth to three agency or a developmental pediatrician.
